what is a bumpsteer kit?

It attempts (and I say attempts because its a pain in the ass to install and harder to get the truck aligned) to keep the front end geometry straight after installing the lowering kit. Joe Donovan (PBJ) spent at least 2 hours trying to get my front end alignment correct after my lowering kit was installed. Still isnt quite right but within specs.

A bumpsteer kit aligns the tie rod ends with the steering rack. when you lower a truck the tie rod end tend to be "bent" upward causing the truck to dart while in a turn. With the tie rod ends up the geometry allows for a lot of movment this stabilizes the movement and keeps the truck pointed in the direction in which you would like to go. anymore question i will be more than happy to answer them.

this should not be confused with the sway end links that should also be long on lowered truck to take away the bad preload that is placed on the factory units when a truck is lowered.... thanks

OK thanks guys for jacking with my sale. But to answere your concern a hemi is nothing compared to a SRT10.

#1- 22" wheels pose a problem tracking on certain road surfaces.

#2- A heavy V10 placed on the very front tends to make them nose heavy.

#3- Familiarize yourself with bumpsteer and not alignment they are different....

Like I said it is nothing to do with the alignment persay but it does refelct upon the drivability of these certain trucks. If you have ever lowered one of them you will know that they are very close to and sometimes are out of spec. Guys al this does is helps the truck stay planted in a turn in laymans terms.....

Now if someone would like to purchase then PLEASE post up......

Bro,

I'm interested, but if it makes the truck difficult to align, then it seems to be swapping one problem for another.... I'm really conservative about mods.. I've been allowing everyone to work out the bugs before I jump into this....

I'm actually awaiting the developement of an all-in-one bumpsteer, sway bar handling package that's got all the bugs worked out....

DC Performance (Dan) sez he's working on one... But he's really busy with all of Nowwhat's tank stuff.... I'm willing to wait until I can just roll it in and get'er done.

But honestly, this truck is scary on bumpy curves at anything over 80mph......

I will take the bump steer kit if you still have it.

Phuck the factory alignment procedure/Specs....There is more than one way to skin a cat :D
