Yesterday on the way back to work from lunch, i was driving 65 in a 55 with the flow of traffic. Although not raining the roads were wet. Seeing a little stream of water running across the road in a corner I slowed gently through the curve as i did not have time to brake before it. Having no spare tire and no gas in the tank the rear was light. The braking only made it lighter as the truck slowly and gradually started drifting in oversteer. Countersteering, off the brake and gas, it only got worse. Sliding 90 degrees down the road and i was slide hoping it would slow to the point it would straighten up.
It didnt. The rear of the truck goes off the side of the road, catapulting my truck, spinning it the other direction. Sliding down the road backwards at 50 mph i did the whole hollywood cop car drive reverse then spin it forwards. Ya that shit dont work in a truck. I managed to keep the truck going around the long curve spinning over 6 times. When i finally came to a stop, my engine was hissing and knocking and it sounded like a diesel. Traffic was comming to i pressed the gas to get out of the center of the road, and the truck just bogged. I smelled fuel strong through the vents. I held the clutch in and rolled onto the grass down the hill.
When i popped the hood all my vacuum lines were blown off the intake. and gas was dripping out my k&n. Evidently the engine reversed direction and was still running. Pumping all my air and fuel out the intake. I reattached all the hoses and fired it up. It smoke a second then idled fine with no check engine light. Cont........
