I'm currently in school in Grenada (in the Caribbean) and have noticed a large USAF cargo plane flying around the island. Went by the airport where it was parked and it had the #0189 on it. I know many members here are active or retired military so I was just curious as to what its doing here or why a US military plane would be in Grenada?:dontknow:

If we knew, we would not be speaking of it on the forum.

Manuel Noriega
Manuel Noriega was a General who ruled Panama from 1983 to 1989. In late 1989, the United States invaded Panama and deposed Noriega.

Noriega was sentenced to prison in United States in 1992 for drug trafficking and money laundering. His prison sentence ended in 2007; however; he remains in prison since it is not clear to which country he should be sent. The confusion is a result over different interpretations of the Geneva Conventions of international law.

How convienent for Regan and Bush

US do humanitarian mission in that part of the world. Grenada is one of those places. (Medical and vet, schools, roads, wells, etc.)

Believe it or not we got on going mission in Jamacia as well.

Perhaps it might also have to do with Obama's presence at the Summit of the America's in Trinidad/Tobago later this month.
It was just a nice sight to see that plane; reminded me of home, which I will be returning to in late May for good!
