Bought a Valentine One Radar Detector last week.It is impressive.For those of you whom own one I have a question.Does the case get very warm? almost hot ?

One question though, how often should you send it back to be upgraded??:dontknow:

Mine gets hot too but it's never been a problem. I think I've had it for about 6 years and haven't had any problems (or tickets! ) <knock on wood> I thought about sending it back for the upgrade but I think it costs about $90 and I'd be without it for awhile. I don't know that the upgraded features are all that worthwhile. If I am wrong, someone please let me know. Maybe I'll upgrade it if it's worth the inconvenience & $$$.

Had mine back for a LED replacement and asked about upgrading and I was told to save my money it is good the way it is.

Patrick and I have been on a cross country trip in the red truck with his V1 and my V1, being used at the same time. The are so close to being the same it blows your mind. It comes down to how you are holding your mouth.

V1 rules! i've bought a few. never heard of a V1 failing due to heat, but i've heard of several Escorts failing.
