Found some info. The guy lives in southern California. If you send him your mirror he will modify it. He takes the remote indicater and mounts it into your mirror. Roughly $150.00

Doesn't the radar detector still have to have unrestricted (or very little restricted) view of the road. Which would mean that it would have to be mounted in plane view right?

Right under the mirror. Having the display in the mirror would be unique but just like having the V1 mounted that high, everyone behind you will see the display. I've mounted my remote dispay down in the little shelf right in front of the shifter. My V1 is still mounted just under the mirror but only the remote display lights up. Doesn't shout to everyone you have one.
