Finally got my engine back from the builder about a year later... wow what a way to keep the miles off. Im getting ready to drop it back in and I'm cleaning the parts, after sanding the valve covers smooth and painting them, I was cleaning them up. I removed the metal plate from the inside to find there is an oil baffle made of soft scotch brite looking material.. I super hesitant about just degreasing them and blowing them out since there are small metal particles in them. The dealer only sells the whole valve cover. Anyone have any idea what I can use for this material? I am going to try and soakem in the hot tank and see what happens, but I don't like it.

Wash em out with solvent. Should be fine, will be easy to tell if any particles are still in them. BTW Congrats, finally!!

I need a new set of does too . When i sent my cover for poweder coating i fogat them in and they are fucked now .
Anyone know what we can use in there .

Not sure what there for but I ran mytruck for a goodbit without them or the metal plate splash guards with no notice of anything different....
