valve covers temp?

How hot do you suppose the valve covers get? i'm trying to paint the viper on the covers red to match the truck so i'm wondering if duplicolor color matched paint will work (not engine paint)

cant see them getting over 400F. oil temps stay about 240 max, plus under hood heat.

Yea i painted the ones on my first truck with red vht engine paint, and a few other parts under there came out really nice i thought.

If you are running headers you may have a little more heat at the valve covers.
