My jury is still out on this one. I have read through similar posts which mentione # of cylinders , fuel in jectors and so forth. It just seems like this is a solid lifter motor ( which I know it isn't!). Not really a loud sound coming from one cylinder but that general ticking. Everything seems OK , Oil P is fine
just was a litle frightning. Motor now has 500 miles. Was wondering If I should take it to the dealer but that probably would be a waste un less it was obviously broken. Another good reason to GTG to compare notes!
Looking for some ( SERIOUS) encouraging words from some of the more experienced SRT_10 owners.

if its anything like mine, when i first got it thought the same thing. took it to the dealership and they had me listen through a scope its the injectors. then i got to florida and scott busted my balls and his did the same and was injector noise.. they all have it.

So I guess the best fix would be louder stereos and louder exhaust!!:D :D :D

To Mc Rod: Btw i read rom your previous post you were planning some pretty serious Modifications. Have any of those came through?

no i talked myself out of them. i can pretty much buy a 10 sec car for 20k. thats what it will cost to do low 12s in the truck. i enjoy the truck so much i dont want the down time either. hell i think it sat a month this winter. all the guys on here were awesome with sharing past experiences on problems, fixes, and costs for replacing everything.

20 k tune, supercharger, transmission (8500 sc, 8500 tranny, 1000 tune if lucky)
20 k to replace blown motor 5000 for reinstall of sc

total equals more than i paid for my 06 qc!!!! I will enjoy the truck and hope like hell nowwhat or someone breaks the 9's. And hope i am there to see it. hope you are coming to the nationals in august. There are a ton of trucks and members going.........

Yeah its lots of $$$ mullah$$$. I guess its also relative. I was a boater
and I blew so much on racing engines ( cigarette boats w /2 engines!!!)
sucking down 20 gal/hr @ $4 /gal ,,out drive s maintenance... etc etc that this is relatively in expensive for me! But Im still out on if I will do anything other than minor mods. This thing is really a cool truck and it it is what it is!!

Valve train noise is normal.....loud injectors as mentioned and alot of them ;)

Sorry Mike, not true.

I think the record is in the 250 to 260 range held by Gale Banks with a 5.9 liter Cummins powered Dakota.

The best part is they not only drove it both ways, but it hauled it's own support trailer there and back.:D

Charles knows better. We know a guy putting down over 800 RWHP with a CTD Ram 2500. Last time I heard, he was running 11.7 in the 1/4.

Yea, he just ran the 1/8 in 7.3 at 95mph ;)

Was gunning for him at MATR but didnt get the NoS kit in, even with it I doubt I could have taken him. With his latest mods he is running mid to low 11's.

I thinks it a 4X4 too. You don't want him in front of you or you'll never see where your going. That thing puts out the black smoke.

Yea, guess when you weigh 6200lbs, its time to call Jenny :D

He gets it all in the first 150' when he launches in 4wheel drive and waits until the first shift...Then moves to 2 high for the rest of the pass.

Its the ultimate sleeper, you would never guess by looking at it on the street. Stock trim, suspension (just added Caltracs), stock rims and tires.
