It's true. As the story goes, Two CE's were hail damaged. They were sent for repair and two more CE's were built to replace them. The two that were repaired, no longer being CE's were sold solid white.viperhauler said:

Don't know all the Details on where/how it got hail damage. I think Whitey's owner was here at one time. I think he was at a Rockingham GTG once. Stinker...do you remember?? Isn't he from SC, GA area?ZCx said:

I think that was "InfinitySRT"'s truck you are talking about..... His is the prototype 2005 CE that is registered as a 2004 RC 1500 with all the badges and paint for a CE.

Not sure, but I thought when they "replaced" the 2 that came out white it messed up the numbering because the two white ones are still in existence, they just don't have the stripes. Maybe they never replaced them and I'm just cornfused. Either way, those two white ones exist, therefore, they have to have production numbers somewhere ?? :dontknow: :dontknow:

It was for sale - at one point.
He was active yesterday. Shoot him a PM and see if he still wants to come off it.
They were damaged in transit to the dealer as I recall..One is supposedly in Canada with the blue stripes put on it..Whitey is in Tennessee if I remeber correctly..
Don was looking to sell at one point awhile ago if the price was right..Lucky for him it never was..I remember when he joined the NFFF he got on and said hey I just bought a white SRT..Everyone was like oh..you mean CE?..he says no..all white..He didnt know it was the only one at first..He did have an accident with it awhile back as well..I think someone cut him off and he sideswiped a sign or something. It was fixed and looked great..havent seen him post in awhile..

Hi guys.........yep, it's me, I don't get to spend much time on here these days, but I do check the place out occasionally to make sure Roz and Stinker don't run everyone off.
Riff got it right on the story with Whitey. I bought the truck new from a Dodge dealer in central PA and they divulged to me that it and another CE received hail damage on the way to the dealerships from the facility that put the stripes on them. They even gave me the paperwork showing the $595.00 charge for paintless dent removal. The trucks were then stripped of their CE status because the people that had ordered them did not want prior damage, so they built two more CE's. The new #9 CE supposedly lives in Kentucky. That guys has the CE 009/200 badge inside his truck, but his vin # is out of sequence with the rest of them.
The issue that arose out of them building two more was that my truck and the other one already carried the CE vin #'s (whitey is 009 out of 200) so they had to build two out of sequence CE's. They then sold the two damaged trucks as solid summit white. I don't have a CE plaque, but I do have the CE interior. The other damaged truck was sold by Roanoke Dodge in Illinois to a guy in New Foundland and the owner paid to have the stripes put back on. I guess Whitey is the only all white one left. Not sure about the monetary value, but it sure was cool to me to have the story go along with the truck.
