Anyone know where I can find these online? I'm taking that piece of crap out of my truck but have lost the install instructions. Thanks

Joe Mingledorff

Hmmm well about one out of every eight times I start the truck it goes to full lean on A/F gauge, runs like shit. Turn the truck off and start back up, all good, for awhile.

Boost gauge dies sometimes, turn off restart... back to normal

A/F ratio is all over the place, I can't get a full pull. Rough idle due to A/F bouncing around.

Can't make laptop communicate with it to even work on the tune.

Those are just the ones I can think of right now.

sounds like bad connections..mine did that. Im not happy with its ability to communicate with the PCM. They CONFLICT....You can make a change on the laptop and the thing wont do CHIT! Im waiting for Chris Jensen and prolly going back to the split second controller....Hey BOOMER can u chime in here please.

Yup I got tired of chasing possibly bad connections. Boomer sent me a split second, goes in on Monday. According to Boomer, the split second is good for way more than what most of us are doing and just plain works better. We'll see next week.

Thanks Stinker, they emailed them to me.

xactky the biggest thing is the connections, it takes hours to do it properly and to make sure they are right, when right it works great, one small flaw, makes the whole thing not work.

The only thing I will go with other than the vec is the AEM, not a big fan of split second, but thats my thing, others love it. The new program works great by the way Blake, I know KC was using the Vec for years getting over 1000rwhp with no problems , but I remember he stressed so hard to take my time and make sure the connections were excellent. I got it on Joannes and mine and have had no issues.

i just had a VEC II wired into my truck....and it put us four weeks behind schedule:dontknow: thing f'in killed us.....Boomer of course bailed us out:rock: Love you Baby! Boomer is going to flash me another computer, and I'll have a stock spare Just in case:D I cannot even talk about this VEC II P.O.S. Thanks again Gary! In my opinion STAY AWAY from the VEC!

Wow, I didn't realize so many were having problems with their VECII. I installed mine myself a year ago and have never had a problem :dontknow:

No problems here. Best thing I did to my truck. (less the train horns):D

None here either...:dontknow: Guess it payed to have ROE install it...:D

Installed two...never had any problems. Agree, it can be tempermental at times (laptop communication) but in the end, works great.

Hmmm this makes me question if I want to buy a VECII. I'd like to tune the truck for the mods I've added....but more importantly I'd like to have a good reliable safe tune for the track for when I open up the bottle. What do you all think the best tuning mechanism is for those that want a nitrous tune for the track?

I've never heard of a split second...whats that?

I can help you with the VEC II NOS tune.
