VEC 3 Wiring Questions...

Its wired inline with the injector and timing pulses for each cylinder. You can un-install it by taking your time and splicing the wires back together. Just need a soldering iron and some heat shrink. Then re-wrap your wire harness with electrical tape and recover with the OEM protector. There are a few other wires that crimped connected that you can take off and protect with e-tape.

If the VEC was installed with the supplied plugs, you can remove it by simply unplugging. It is wired in the injector harness as stated above, but when the harness was spliced it should have automotive grade male and female plugs installed. So bypassing it should be easy.

It seems moody, 2 days ago it wouldnt stop thowing the P0207 Fuel Injector #7 Circuit Malfunction and today it is running perfect, no hesitation, no misses, no codes. Maybe it was just her time of the month...

Probably a pin isnt seated in the connector. Pull the main connector apart and check the seat on each one. They should 'click' into place ;)

Thanks, ill check that after work. And sure as i said it was fine it started missing again today and the check engine light came on again :dontknow:

Yes...make sure that connection is in tight....when I had the VEC the connection got loose and the meth injection came on and stayed on...lucky I didnt bust a piston.........I had checked the connection when it started and it felt tight....we later removed the connection and replugged and all was well..

Also dont forget to check the splices where the VEC harnesses connect to the truck harness. Sometimes if not soldered properly it can cause issues.
