I am trying to install my VEC right now and having a problem with one of the supplied connectors. The female connector has a blue lock that when all the wires are in place it slides back and locks them all in place. Well, me being a dumbass playing with the connector I pushed the blue lock in before I had any wires in place. How the heck does this lock get unlocked so i can install the wires?

Alright I got it, thought it was going to stall my install. LOL. I thought something locked the blue part, but there isnt, its just tight and has to be pulled up evenly. Kinda tricky to do.

hehe, playing with it i did the same thing.... clack , and it closes...no worry , with a screwdriver each side you can pull it up again .....

The vec sure is the fun part isn't it :)

It actually isnt too bad, I removed the spare battery holder and it gained a bunch more room. Hardest part is that the truck is about 10" up on jackstands so I was on my tippy toes for the whole time. I have a left over wire though, gonna post about it next.

Ok, I have a extra wire after my install. It is a orange wire that looks like it comes from the injector load board and goes to where the blue, purple, red, light blue, white w/purple stripe, white w/blue stripe end up.

In the instructions it talks about the 12V power wire being 2 red wires with a male spade on the end. Well my VEC is a used one and the spade is not there, and to make it more confusing I only have 1 red wire. Is this spare orange wire suppost to go to 12V?

i can have a look and take a pic ? :dontknow:

mine has indeed 2 red wires crimped on 1 spade which is the 12V connection according instructions.....Supposed to go on a quick press on connector to be taken on a traced orange ( ! ) ,# forgotten, wire of te lower black PCM ....

Those 2 "quick on" things i didn't use , using extension cables to my watertight box i removed some insulation and solderd wires to them....

Hmmmm, something wierd is going on with mine then. I do not have a second red wire and have a orange that cannot be accounted for. Im not using the quick connectors either, they are junk and will cause problems in the future. Maybe I will just contact ROE and get a better wiring diagram for the entire harness not just the wires needed to be attached. Unless someone has a VEC that is not mounted (to make this easier) and could have a look at the orange wire coming from the black plastic box where it ends up at and also figure out where the 2 red wires start at. When I trace the red wire back it starts a pin 24 on the master connector and I cannot even see a second red wire.

I looked at mine but I couldnt get a good look since its all taped up pretty good. I can look at my diagrams tonight and see if I can help out if you havent got back to Sean yet.

Talked to Mike at ROE and he helped out a whole bunch, I havent been home to verify the information yet, but there is no orange wire from the injector load board. Brown, brown w/green, brown w/red, brown w/white, white, green, green w/white, yellow, purple, and red. Mike figures my strange orange wire is a faded red one and is the missing red wire for 12V. I will look through process of elimination and see what the heck is going on. I really want to hear that supercharger bark!

Thanks for having a look for me, I went through all the diagrams too and there is nothing about the load board there. Only the normal connections one has to make to the factory harness and also the VEC connections.

How goes the battle Tyler?Hope you gotter figured out.

Ya just had a look at it, Mike was right about all the wire colors except there is also a Red w/white wire. I still think the so called red wire is actually orange, but according to the information he gave me it must be the power wire. I will assume it is and hopefully it works out. Guess I should have maybe bought a new harness for it, didnt think I would have needed it though. Also ordered the better injector connector kit from ROE today so when it comes in I will wire it up and see if it runs. I told them to priority the parts to me so hopefully this time next week I will see if it makes some noise.
