Vehicle Donations?

Anybody have any experince and/or advice for doing this? I am thinking about spinning the wheel and donating my Chevy truck. The only thing I know about this is that the tax write off is dependent on what the chartible organization gets for the vehicle.

Thank you sir. If I do this it looks like I'll need to pry a bit out of the organization on what they may or may not plan for in terms of my vehicle, i.e sell it or use it. Their use of it may bring the biggest potential for a deduction.

sell the truck and then give the money to st judes, make a wish , and ronald mcdonald house. 95% of all moneys go directly to who it is helping. I even quit giving to find a cure for breast cancer, after my wife got it you start to find out which charities actualy go to what it was supposed.Jmo.
