1:Has anyone hacked their 06 GPS to display DVD's? I know the hacks are available for GMS i.e. http://www.gnetcanada.com/rss.xml
2: Has anyone used a vehicle dynamics processor (in any car) like the pioneer one <link below>

3: I've seen the ODB2 gauges but they look kinda cheesy to me... was curious if anyone found a program to get that information on their GPS/DVD display...

putting an onboard laptop in my truck would be cool... just not that practical :dontknow:

Guess I'm the only geek that likes this shizzy... I dunno if someone made a kit that displayed ODB2 info PLUS this info for like ~$800 I'd buy it :D

There HAS to be a way to add guages to the display rather than adding a buncha gauges (even as cool as yellow fevers looks)...

I run my laptop as well as my Archo's through my Pioneer flip screen. On the Archo's we burn movies or TV show's to the HD then instead of using it's little screen we watch it on the flip. I run a power point presentation with all the vid's I've made about our trucks as well as MOD's through the flip screen using it as an additional monitor off my dell laptop that is hidden......kinda geeky don't yeah think.

Hey Geek Squad ,

Any way to be able to use the GPS with Truck in motion ??

Cheers J.T.

Mine sets in the garage all the time....I'm only allowed to go from my house to X-Metal or from here to the nats...thats it, so I don't use my GPS. I only use the GPS on the laptop...so I can't help w/factory unit. Sorry...this is Geek #2 signing off

I had a look at the web page about GM's. It got me confused. I have an 07 suburban. How can I watch the DVD when the vehicle is out of park (on the front screen)? Any other cool things that can be done?

I'd love to find a hack for the RB4's clock.

The VDP from Pioneer is badass. I'd love to get one, but in order to get all the regular features my RB4 has, I'm looking at a $3100 stereo setup.
....and I lose steering wheel controls.

All I want is a frickin' clock.
:D

THat website just plain sucks.... I get all kinds of script errors, plug in errors, then when I click on :ENTER:, it crashes my browser.. some real high quality coders who wrote that site...

EDIT: By the way.. the comment was not meant towards BigIke... it was toward those that wrote the website.. =) The link is appreciated.

Everyone keeps talking about the clock? I have one on my rb4, and if I press time it makes it big...

I would love to find a hack to display DVDs on the NAV display screen in my truck.. and figure out a way to have the nav system work while I am driving.. its a pain to have to stop and make changes...

I found where you can get the GM hacks.... I'm still looking for the Dodge ones... I'll post if I find something...

Exactly.
Why isn't the 'large time' display the default?
Simple programming would let you toggle between display and time.
I guess the designer was sick on Common Sense Day.

that 04 05 gps is a pos... my best advice is to just throw that thing on ebay... I'm pretty sure you can buy kits to get your steering wheel buttons to work with after-market radios... I'd look into the pioneer n-vic... it's a very nice unit

I've done tons of research on this.
-The VDP only works with a few select Pioneer units (none of the AVIC units).
-Only a few Pioneer head units are Bluetooth capable.
You *can* do Nav, Bluetooth, a Clock, and VDP all from Pioneer for about $3100.....BUT....no steering wheel controls for that setup.

No, but the fact that once you hit the button the clock only gets displayed for 10 seconds is poor programming.
