VENTURE SHIELD PAINT PROTECTOR

Has anyone looked into applying either "VENTURE SHIELD PAINT PROTECTOR" or the 3M version to their trucks to prevent rock chips from damaging the paint? I had thought about mud flaps but just can seem to get my self to install them on my beautiful 2006 RC "Black" truck. But, there are already a few chips and I don't want it to get worse. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...
