The Bugatti Veyron is selling briskly in the United States, according to Sunday's Detroit Free Press. While Bugatti has taken orders for a mere 30 Veyrons in the entire United States, at $1.4 million each, sales are already over $40 million. And while Volkswagen is believed to be losing money on each sale, dealers have managed to build a working business model around the car. After all, one dealer — Bugatti Troy in Detroit — has sold just four this year. Three of the buyers live in Michigan and one in Toronto. Buyers plunk down a $383,500 deposit ahead of delivery for the thousand-horsepower supercar, the newspaper said. Bugatti will build just 50 Veyrons at its Molsheim, France facility. Production will end once the total reaches 300. Recently, the Veyron beat a Suzuki GSX-R1000 superbike in a 0-100-0 mph competition.
