I just did the newest Viper key mod method explained by FastSRT19 a few days ago. One important note on the chip installation. The end of the chip with the "notch" cut out (not the end with the corner molded out) needs to be pointing at the ignition cylinder to work. *edit add* I also found it easier to drill out the hole, install the grommet, install the chip, then superglue it in.
Another interesting point. Apparently, the chip is only in use during startup. I held the chip by the point where im going to drill my hole and the truck started fine. I pulled the chip away and put it in my pocket and the truck kept running. I found that interesting....guess I'm pretty boring.
