Hey guys I have searched and cannot find a definitve answer. Will an 04 Viper engine work in an 04 QC pickup? I have found that the regular cabs are the same but can't find the info for a qc. I have an 04 I bought from a friend that sat in my shop for years. It only has 3200 miles. He had a Roe supercharger installed on it and it scared him so bad he never really drove it. One morning he took it out and stomped on it cold right out of his driveway and something let loose. I picked it up to swap a motor for him and he completely lost interest in it. I did a bunch of research on here and figured it was #3 spun bearing and bought it from him since I always loved tge truck. Boy was I wrong. The truck would still run but no oil pressure. I drained the oil and it looked ok. After getting the motor out I spun it over on the stand to pull the pan.... uh oh shrapnel sounds. It actually broke one of the rods (cant remember which one but it was towards the flexplate end) which luckily for the head smacked the piston and wedged it sideways in the bore. Unfortunately it took a pass thru the block in the valley between the bores and cracked the side of the block. Its so sad because its a brand new freaking motor! Anyways not sure about finding a low mile takeout or forged shortblock, wasnt really budgeting for this outcome when I bought it from him. Thanks for any help.
