Viper Tech suggest Throttle Body Clean $325

Carried the truck in for my oil change, yes i brought my own oil. 14.95 for them to change oil, top fluids and viper tech test drive.

They are telling me i need to get my throttle body cleaned. They have to order the gasket. They will need my truck for 6 hours and it will cost me $325

Should i buy a brand new aftermarket throttle body for that price?
Is he bullshitting me and i dont need to do this?\
Is the aftermarket any performance gain, without Forced Induction?

Dude all they do is remove the throttle body ...........MAYBE!

then remove the idle air control solonoid and take some carb cleaner and spray it off, then spray the throttle blade

done it for years, it does nothing , unless you have bad idle problems

you dont need a gasket, its a reusable o ring

you can do it yourself, remove the TB, remove the idle air from the side, take carb cleaner in a spray can, spray it all off, and reinstall.

but yeah if nothing else bo, get a new TB from Sir ROE:rock: :rock:

Any good auto repair shop will clean your entire system ,injectors and all for about 89.95 total.

Do not pay the dealer, that is such a scam. How come you dont do your own oil changes? This truck is by far the easiest oil change I have ever owned.

How do you say Viper Tech needs a commission check------thats an outrageous amount to pay for that service....Do it yourself -----buy the x-metal or a roe throttle body Jeff.

Jeff, Did you go to Lee Dodge on Mary Esther? Have you seen their "Viper Tech"? I'm not sure I'd trust him. I've mentioned a few things I've learned on this site to him and he didn't know what I was talking about (ie...clutch, slave problems). Kinda sucks that we don't have ANY good automotive shops of any kind anywhere around FWB.
