Has anyone tried or heard how these systems perform?

Volant Cold Air Intake-04-06 Dodge Ram SRT-10 (8.3-V10)

I imagine that it's better than the stock system.

Any feedback Appreciated .....

Here's a pic .... Thanks

Jim

According to all dynos, no cold air intake makes any extra power on our trucks, the drop in filter works best.

so its a matter of personal preference to which you want :D

You want to field this one Silverback?...:D

I heard Volant Is Not worth the money And they Claim some bogus ass Horsepower gains. I have a K and N aircharger. K and N says 15 Hp.

I have Volant on both my Reg-cab and Quad-Cab. I also got great deal on both. if i had to pay full retail I would have gone with the JMB cai

Ive only opened upthe hood 2x on my truck and noticed the factory air intake seems too be a "cold air intake: ie it draws air from what looks like the fender area as opposed to the engine compartment. Based on what the other posters here have said the Drop in filter will provide a better CFM for this engine at a fraction of the cost IMO!

I HAVE THE VOLANT CAI IN MY TRUCK.SOUNDS GREAT.HP GAINS NOT MUCH THOUGH.ALOT OF MONEY FOR WHAT YOU GET.I TOOK THE UGLY ASS SNORKEL OFF.HELPS A LITTLE WITH LETTING SO MORE AIR IN TO COOL THE MOTOR.IT'S GETTING HOT IN SW FLORIDA.TRYING TO KEEP THE BEAST AS COOL AS POSSIBLE.SPEND YOUR MONEY ON SOMETHING ELSE.I WISH I DID!

Many have said this before...but the redundancy is probably part of what happens as we continue to grow.

One of the things Chrysler did well was to design the intake system on our trucks. Both Boomer and DC Performance dyno'd several CAI and could not document any hp gains...in some instances there were losses. Most feel that sound of the truck is improved and there is little argument with the sexy visual impact. The K&N drop-in filter seems to be the best improvement.

Maybe this should be a sticky?

No problem with asking TeTe...we are here to help!

     In that case Roy, you get to field all the questions related to this subject from now on.
;) :D

Damn, open my link to VTCOA and stick my foot into my keyboard!

I got a stellar deal on mine. It does dress up the engine bay but it's not worth the money. The sound is nice but not 400 dollars nice. Had I not gotten a deal I would have just pursued a K&N drop in filter.

If you want more sound then there are less expensive models. And JMB will even hook you up with a color choice and a sweet-looking catch can.

Looks Like K&N

Thanks for all the feedback ..........

Looks like it's going to be a K & N drop in to me ......

Yeah do the drop in. had_to_have_it had it in his silver QC... The sound was good but in the end he was basically giving it to me if I wanted it. That told me enough to where I wouldn't bother. So what did we gather here IMHO? I wouldn't put it in mine if it were for free (P-E-R-I-O-D). K&N®
drop in is what I am pushing right now and I'm lovin it.:D

sorry guys I just dont agree,,,, if you look into youre air box , there is a very small hole were it pulls air from. on the JMB its a huge filter with air all arond it and if you take that plastic piece off and a bunch more air gets in there

No one said the stock airbox was the way to go.. but against a Volant?.. yeah. Now I would surely take the JMB setup over both the Volant and stock setup any day. In fact let me call Justin and order some stuff...
