So... I bought a used Volant CAI from a member here. Came today and decided to install. As it was used, I didn't expect instructions, so I called Volant and had them email me a .pdf. Well, it took me a little longer than it probably should have being that I am not the most savvy when it comes to these sort of things. I had all of the parts needed, but where the instructions said the breather hose should connect, I had serious problems getting them there, to the point where I had to get some extra hose and perform a little of my own mods. I guess my question is... Did anyone else who has this CAI have the same issue? It's on there now, looks and works great, just curious. I've read a lot of threads that also say that these intakes sound a lot better. Didn't really notice any huge difference. What exactly should I be looking for?

i have one and never had to ADD pipe lol,,,and if all your mods consist of only the air intake what ever you are LOOKING for is:dontknow: in question

wait i just figured it out you must have gotten one that was for a hemi that fits the srt-10 hood ,,because the hose is differnt

The breather pipe is different on different modles so you may have to modify it al lil

but performance?.......... there is non, you dont get much more from any over the stock breather intake:(

No... I got one from a member here who formerly had a 10. It may have been a different year, but I don't think it makes a difference. HE may have got one for a Hemi and sold it, but I doubt it. Also, I wasn't expecting anything special. Only thing I read on multiple threads is that it sounds meaner when hammered. I do, however, still have everything stock. I'll eventually get her to where I want, but don't have a bunch to drop at one time. Saw the deal, and couldn't pass. I just thought it was wierd that damn thing wasn't even close to fitting where the instructions said it should. Wierd. Anyways, thanks for the insight.

Mine was brand new and had same prob. and one mounting bolt for inside airbox to stock mount was to short to use with washers as directed. Also very difficult to get new hose on T.B. and took a bit of tweaking to get ram scoop lined up good as to not interfere w/hood. Luckily I paid well below new advertised price also, otherwise would have been very po'd. Should most def be alot easier to install and fit perfect for the $5-600 they cost new!

I am having the same problem. Regardless of how hard I try, the plastic tube keeps coming loose from the rubber hose that connects to the TB. It must be a Hemi application.
