Installing an new stereo nav/dvd head unit. does anyone know where I can tap a VSS wire? I thought I could find one in the stock unit since it has a basic nav system but I can't find one that states that in the schematics from the dodge wiring diagrams.

Good question,I checked the wiring diagrams for our truck and could not find any circuits associating the Nav. with vehicle speed sensors(vss).Could you tap a circuit from the abs module for a wheel speed sensor??:dontknow:
Let me know what you find.

not sure? I think it should be a voltage(0-5v?), gonna dig around some more....

VSS= vechicle speed sensor, correct???
if its a magnetic sensor it generates its own signal. no volts needed.

dk. blue/orange located at PCM, black/ grey plug, pin 27

need someone to verify this tho

found it. page 8W-80-97, or 2946 on the PDF.
"MODULE-POWERTRAIN CONTROL C2 (SRT) - WHITE 32 WAY"
"pin 27- B22 18 DG/YL VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL NO. 1"

thanks for the point in the right direction though!

is this the same on a 04 because we could never find one on my truck somethin about soldering on a circuit board
