He is ok. It knocked him out, and silly for awhile, and nearly cut his ear off. He was very lucky! He fell asleep, hit the first tree head on, that spun him around into another tree. If the tree had hit the side 1 foot foreward it would have been his life.

Thank God! That could have been tragic...he is a very lucky man.

Glad your brothers ok Travis;) Christmas will be that much more special this year!!

Thank goodness he is OK! - That's a nasty looking wreck :(

Here is one of our worst ones in months. One lived, one didn't. :(

It happened a couple of weeks ago he is doing fine now and almost ready to go back to work. the plastic surgine did a great job on his ear. I have been trying to downlaod these pix from my iphone to the computer and finaly figured out tonite. He had some short term memory loss, but that seems to have cleared up. We had finished a job outside of Chicago, worked 10 hrs that day, and he wanted to go straight home. So we all left I live an hour north of our farm where he lives. So I had just kissed the wife and started unloading the truck when my phone rang. It was my buddy, whom my brother was following. He was cring and said that Chad had wrecked And was unresponsive. (He told me later he thought he was dieing because of all of the blood and the way he was gasping for breath.) I called my mom, met her and beat the ambulance to the hospital. we are so very lucky he is ok. Hes only 21, and his 2 kids will have their father for x-mas. Everyone stay safe out there!

I'm glad your brother is going to be OK. The truck took one hell of a hit.

It is an 89 S-10. Came to a "T" intersection, took out the stop sign, jumped the highway and into the trees across the road. Driver lived but is still on a ventilator. Massive chest trauma from the steering wheel.

I'm really glad the kids will have their father for Christmas.

Wow, glad your bro is ok.

There really is no excuse for falling asleep at the wheel. With about 300 different energy drinks out there and a starbucks every 5 miles.....

Recent story on Maui:

This is a m5 that my friend was driving about 10 days ago. It literally exploded when it hit the bridge pillar. The engine was pushed to the backseat......well what was left of it. There still are many little pieces of engine parts at the scene. The scorch marks still look fresh even though we had 6 inches of rain the next day. Cops and common sense says he was going way faster than the 40 mph speed limit. I would guess 100 plus to cause the engine to blow up on impact. He was killed instantly. Cops say he fell asleep at the wheel. Not sure if he was drunk.........weird thing, no skid marks at all. He is survived by a 12 year old daughter. Poor girls mother is worthless and has no custody.

And to think it could all have been avoided.:(
