Over 15000 miles on the K&N/STS. I finally cleaned it.

I don't know? It's definitely got some dirt, but it's not clogged anywhere by a long shot. I think it would've been just fine for quite a while yet.


Though, they look much purdier clean.:)
 
Nah, Smoke that ain't dirty. Hell it was just getting seasoned like a good cast iron skillet...now you got to start all over...what wuz you thinking?:confused: :dontknow:

Gotta agree with this. K&N's work better with some dirt on them as there is more surface area to trap and hold dirt. I wouldn't have bothered with cleaning that filter for maybe another 15000 miles.
 
With a STS you are picking up all kinds of crap off the highway. I would clean it more often if I was you.

That is what I was thinking. My filter being about 12 inches off the deck and right by my rear tires causes it to get very dirty. I did decide to go ahead and run it without the sock.
