I work for a steel company that is the country's largest recycler. We melt scrap and turn it into steel plate that is selling for 1200.00 a ton right now. The steel is used in heavy equipment ,bridges ,ship, pipe, and oil rigs, wind towers and cell towers. We have steel mills in 18 states and 4 countries.

A few dozen man hole covers would be worth quite a bit now days.

I would leave the torch, welder, mids and sims out for them. I would even jack up the truck and leave out some cold beer.

Actually, I might be able to get some of you guys to the swap then.

cats are bringing good money especially on bmw's and lexus. my buddy has a junkyard and towing service they cut the cats off of everything and sell them even the cars they tote off to have crushed. he told me the other day he got 600.00 for 2 cats off a beamer.

anyone in scrap metal in florida? i got tons of steel the needs to be recycled...old modular frames, steel rims (100's of 'em), commercial ac's all kinds of stuff...we just recycled a commercial clamshell style tent-the aluminum brought over $30,000

shoot, combine the $600 windfall after scrapping my cats with the current Roe discount on Belangers, and i can get long tubes, catless mids, and o2 sims for about $1700 shipped now. :rock:
