I wanted to know if water/meth is a have to on the Roe:dontknow: Is it really going to matter that much as far as HP goes:confused:What about getting it tuned will it affect that:dontknow: My truck is not a daily driver and I have never been to track with it:D So I am not going to the track all the time although I plan on taking it sometime;) Just to see what I can do with it:rock:

I gained about 30 rwhp and a few foot pounds of torque after the water/meth addition (to my Paxton) at PBJ last year. Its not a "have to". I had a tune for non water/meth injection and one with it. It advances the timing I think so you should run different tunes if you run it and dont run it.

You could have a card for the VEC that doesnt activate it and one that does.

A negative is that if you are planning on running it (have the card for activation) and it doesnt activate (loose wire, no pickup to the tank) you'll likely do not good things inside the motor :(

Meth allows you to boost more and reduce detonation.
Thus you can increase your HP thru more timing advance -- without detonation. Not a huge HP advantage, however safer due to lower risk of detonation.

I was just curious;) The Roe I got didn't come with meth and just wanted to know the ups and downs to it:rock: Joe a PPJ will be tuning my truck again after the install so it may be better for me to go ahead with the water/meth:dontknow:

yea it would be a good idea to go ahead with the water/meth just to be safe.

I'd go ahead and do it Kyle. YOu'll make more power, be safer and not have loss due to heat soak.

A win, win, win if you ask me. ;)

I believe I may go ahead with it;) It's cheap anyways:D You going to give me a ride in that SC'd viper when I come up:confused: :burnout:

Tim is spot on.

First and foremost in my mind is the added protection against detonation. Secondly, in the hot months it aids in avoiding heat soak (so does the resistor mod Sean discussed here a couple of months ago, a 99 cent mod!) and thirdly is some minimal hp gains...but probably insignificant.

I wondered when you would chime in Roy:D So what is this IAT mod I have heard about:confused: How do I do that?

Searching for the thread...but in short...add a 5-7 ohm resistor (I used a 5.6) in the ATS that attaches to the intake...the resistor fools the pcm into thinking that the temperature is 20-30 degrees cooler than it actually is.

Sean found that our truck pcm's pull huge hunks of timing as soon as the temperatures start to rise. Way more than the pcm's in Viper cars. So heat soak really reduced the hp (because of the timing being pulled). The resistor mod is a 5 minute job...just add it to the wire....

Thanks Roy;) I'll do that when I am installing the SC'r as well:D

Your going to love the Roe!

Yep! I think I have watched the video barry posted up 1,000 times:rock: That Roe just sounds awesome:elefant:

the meth is a cheap and easy install. i did mine in 45 minutes. instructions are simple. havent done the iat mod yet but i already have the stuff to do it with. will probably get it dont before april.

i don't have the meth ... according Roe i don't need it... i run the stock pulley and the 3° card... temperature is here around 10 °C now and engine stays on 170 °F as the installed thermostat...( oil also ) i really need pushing it to get again the 190 °F.... summer will be some 10 to 15 °C warmer ... will see what it gives... for sure i don't need a oil cooler right now :D

If you had the Zero degree card (full race) you would need the meth in my opinion.

I don't know how conservative Sean has gone with his tunes...maybe he will chime in on this...but my zero degree card and my -3 degree card use the meth. But he has a lot of experience since my TMTS install in Sept of '06.

sorry , forgot to mention we have 98 octane pump gas... better then most in the US , i'm right ? :dontknow:
