Wax preference

What Dave said.

Zaino is great stuff.

And what's this just throwing some wax on it and calling it good shit? :dontknow:

The weather was quickly getting ugly so I figure I might be able to just get a quick coat of wax on. But in the time it took me to put away the car wash stuff, eat breakfast, and post this thread it went from no cloud in sight to raining. Damnit sh!t lol. Maybe next wash I can do the full detail onit.

and by the way viperpowa....silver has been proven the SLOWEST color!:p

lol you got that backwards, remember it's been proven to be the *FASTEST* color. :D :D The other colors can fight over second, but silver has the throne :p:D

I've been using Turtlewax Ice. It can be applied in direct sunlight and on all plastic and rubber on the vehicle without turning powdery white. Stays clear. Easy to apply and wipe off. And it's available at Wally Mart or local auto place. For the glass I just discovered Stoner Invisible Glass. I was amazed at how clear the windshield looked. Almost like I could stick my hand through it. That reminds me. I need to wash the truck again.

YEAH THAT STUFF WORKS GREAT!!!.HAVE BEEN USING IT FOR A COUPLE MONTHS.GREAT FOR INBETWEEN WAXES.REALLY HOLDS THE SHINE AND KEEPS THE CHIT OFF.OF COURSE DAILY DUSTING HELPS AS WELL:rock:
WIFE THINKS I AM CRAZY AND OBSESSED:dontknow: WTF,SHE'S PROBLY RIGHT:rock: :burnout:

Used the Ice wax last time..They have a new liquid claybar as well..Worked pretty well..not sure how it compares to the actual claybar though..

i use the McGuires tech wax its so easy on - easy off,i can do my truck in 11/2 hrs to 2hrs and it does look good on my blk truck(no white power mess)...nice shine for the money & time.........

I can't see how this could work as well as the real thing, but I have been wrong before.:dontknow: The real clay bar works because the clay is sticky, and soft, the grime in the paint sinks into the clay and stays there.

Zaino is where it's at! I have tried tons of different products, and so far Zaino is the easiest to apply and remove with the least amount of powder, residue or elbow grease of any I have tried!

I have sworn by Griots garage clay bar and speed shine, For wax I like 3m high gloss paste wax, but I have not tried zaino wax and seeing some of the reply's it sounds like I should.....

What do you guys recommend on a silver vehicle I can't see going crazy on the Zaino again I did it when the truck was a few weeks old and it looked great but I dunno that silver allows you to appreciate the 12-14 hours we put in that day!!! TIA

 U guys prefer liquid or paste???

Funny you mention that... I have used liquid for YEARS (used to use paste (Mothers))... The NXT Gen Tech Wax that I bought was a paste. :dontknow: I like it.

But when I have a LOT of time (about 6-8hours), I still use my Gold Class liquid with a buffer. :)

Thanx for the suggestions Jake...hope all is well brudda!!

I use Zaino. See my sig and these pics. That house reflection in the gate it a long ways away (a good 20 feet of grass, street then grass at the house). I put a front pic of the truck so you can see the distance to the house from my truck.

A very good friend of mine runs a detailing business and he as well as others I've met say that washing your car with dishwashing soap is bad news. I don't buy anything from him so I trust that opinion.

He does detailing work for a lot of professional athletes as well as other high-roller types in the DFW area. I think that says a lot.

He's not the first to tell me that.

I am a 3M guy personally. I had their show paste last over 18 months on my Prowler, but she wasn't driven all that much and garage kept.

Getting a little lazy in my old age and am looking for a good local detail shop :(
