Beyond the Sun....
Tonight I was on the way back from AutoZone...and the temp gauge went from the typical 185-190 range to around 250ish... stayed at around 250ish for 1-2 minutes, and then slowly came back down to normal operating temperature, and has not done it again...

During this time - It did not overheat, or boil over, no CEL, or Codes given, no loss of coolant, over flow tank stayed the same, nor was there any detonation... no smell of coolant, or "hot" engine smells, etc...

I am kinda thinking that maybe somehow a pocket of air worked its way into the system (or through the system), and caused a temporary stopage of flow of coolant....

Any ideas...

Did you service the coolant recently?

Nope, the last time I touched it was when I put the SuperCharger on about 5 months ago or so...

I also was not driving it hard.. doing around 40mph...

I can only guess air in the system or the thermostat is on the way out? It only happened that one time right?

That was my thought... will keep a watch on it... only one time.

That's also indicative of a small head gasket leak. You can locate it with a compression gauge, or, if it's leaking enough, you can look at the plugs (after it sits over night) and tell because the one that is leaking will have light brown (rust) spots on it.

I hope that's not your problem, but it's easy to check.
