Welding thread

been messin around a little the past few days, gonna try to build a cart for the plasma cutter this weekend.........................after my eyeballs come back into focus:p

Miller elite is an awesome hood! I just broke my nexgen, and ordered a boss lens by Jackson.
 
I've got two of the Elites - I keep a 2x cheater in one. I like the lens, but not so much a fan of the headgear ratchet setup. I put up with it for the lens :)

finally finished up the cart this weekend, just took what I had laying around to finish it up, needed it outta the way:D

and for eddie, the aluminum is getting better, I played with heat ranges and depth a little and some different sticks too.

thanks, been playing with heat ranges and differnt sticks and stuff for depth, another week or so and should be close to getting it, I did acouple things around here, but may not post them yet, too much scrutinizing:p
 
Try a using stainless steel brush, aluminum oxidizes faster than you can believe!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah I got to get one, I jsut got tthe one I have used with my mig for years, now if I can jsut get my fingers to heal up , and my eyes back into focus and my arm to quit twitching, everything will be fine:aetsch:

If you have been using it on carbon steel get another just for your aluminum as it hates carbon.

Or I will just have to show you how to weld aluminum with an oxy acetylene torch.....................really

yeah slowly getting things separated, didnt have to worry much with the mig, jsut kinda threw it all in a pile , :D but gotta make a cart now jsut for the tig, made one also for just the mig and have everything for the mig all together, will put nothing but aluminum with the tig cart.

Just try welding underwater hehe.........................and get another hose and gun for the mig if you gonna weld aluminum with it as it is contaminated with the carbon and other stuff from the steel wire.
