Question...having a bonus room built above the garage...putting an electric dryer in...it will require a 240 line...

Since it is above the garage I am going to have them run a dedicated 220 line into the garage at the same time...what amperage should I plan for if I get a medium sized TIG or MIG???

I plan to use the outlet most of the time for an electric lift...but if I can learn to weld...I might unplug the lift from time to time to plug in a TIG or MIG welder...

Thanks for your input!

50 amp 220 volts single phase , but have them set a sub panel ( 100-150 amp load center) in the garage so you can flip breakers without having to leave the garage and have extrta space to add other circuts when needed. The Tig circut shoould be run in EMT ( metal conduit, or metal flex )
