I have pictures and for almost everything. I will get them loaded asap. I would not wish this on anyone even Stinker...jk:p

But the first of a few questions, anyone can chime in.

Does a 05 srt-10 have a steal or aluminum block?

Why would the numbers on the motor not match the VIN number. I have a good guess on this....

Paul, did it have all the internals I paid for on the Venom 1000 package?.....on the numbers not matching I think JH has several blocks at the engine shop and they would not necessarily match....I do not agree with this...but I think it is common...I don't think my TT Viper from UGR will match either.

Paul in response to your questions:

1. All viper engines are aluminum

2. The engine numbers are not matched to the vin numbers...there is no numbering methodology between our truck VIN and the block number. Some who are hoping for a "collectible" status have complained about this. I am not sure if the Vipers are the same or not.

Hi Walt

I would have to say yes for now for almost everything as for the inturnals. I think Hennessay should have used ARP bolts where ever possible, put they didn't. I think that is where the problem started. We saw carbon buildup around the bolt holes.
Even though this is a pain it might be a blessing. We were getting the crank out and saw heavy wear on the bearings on pistons 5-6. The bearings were showing the "copper" color. The crank in that location looks and feels fine.

Does any one have a location that I can get arp bolts and stuff for the motor? How about studs for the heads?

Paul

Thanks for the pictures. For some of us, this is really educational.

It not everyday I get to see the internal working on this engine.

Please keep us posted on your progress.

:dito: I agree! Thanks for the pics and all the good luck with your progress :)

it is hard to see in the pics....but it does look like the pistons have a lot more meat between the top and the rings than the stockers.....:dontknow:

It looks like you had a pre-ignition problem. Any piston damage? I can supply you with whatever you need.

Thanks Dan

I will need a new set of gaskets for sure, use arp bolts and studs where I can, at least 2 set of bearings.

Nowwhat

The pistons all looked good. I will take a picture up close for you wise gentleman to tell me what I got.

dude I ant tell from the pics too good , but dontlook like you have billet mains, and you def need them , especaill y with that power, thats why the bearings are worn so quickly:(

Let's all go to Madison to see what Paul is doing next weekend...he can get us tickets to the game against Northern Illinois...(remember the name Romo?)

We can give him all of our various opinions and spend his money for him!
