Unfortunately Insurance regualates our hourly rate in the body shops. As far as I know it's $42/hr for paint and $95/hr mechanical. It doesn't take long to add up hours for removing door panels, mirrors, handles, weatherstripping, belt mouldings, not to mention body work, priming/blocking, masking and prep time. That's all hours accumulated before the actual painting even starts!
Trust me, it's an underpaid business just like cops and teachers
true that ....only people profiting big are the owners!!!!
