Me and my buddy with a lighting went to Gainesville Dragstrip and had a great time. First run was 14.6 @101MPH. Second run was a 15.98 @88MPH, missed third. Third run was a 14.07 @102MPH and the last run was a 13.686 @103MPH. Had a great time for 30.00 and got to eat chili cheese dogs and burp and fart like a guy!!! Whoppee!

Welcome to the 14 second club!

P.S. Someone on the thread is selling a Boomer Gen 4 shifter! Go for it, it will end your problems of getting into third, and you can be a consistent 14 second runner like Stinker and me!

It is still for sale :D

The track was pretty good, I used the good ol rolling start and kept the spinning to a minimum. Your truck might have been more of a handfull as the night got more humid and condisation started getting the track a little damp.

Mine may be too. I'm giving it a few more "outings" before I decide and try the B&M that Bill (ViperTruck2933) is suggesting. Maybe its me but I've had a few instances where I couldnt get into 3rd. I've got a few more events to try and sort it out...my inability to shift into 3rd or the shifter.

Glad you had a great time... good fun for sure. It's hot out, so your best times are going to be in the winter... not for the lack of trying. Great to hear you had fun!

For 30 bucks go to NAPA and try the Hurst tee handle... made a further improvement with the shifting on mine, as did the GEN I shifter from Boomer.
Just feels more solid running through the gears with the Tee handle:dontknow:

The Gen IV Shifter from Boomer solved all of my shifting problems...the only shift miss I have made since getting the Gen IV was one recently going from 5th to 3rd at about 80...hit 1st and the rev limiter let me know that "one of us had made a mistake"...and there is a black cobra somewhere telling everyone that SRT 10 's have nothing from 80 mph up...

I'm running the B&M shifter, And I found that if I try and shift really hard into third, I'm screwed. I also found that my custom Skull shift knob seems to make it harder to feel the shifts. I went back to the stock ball handle for the last run, and it was easier to shift into third.

It isn't the shifter.Try the wrist positioning that nowwhat suggested........turn your wrist inward while shifting. It isn't exactly comfortable, but since trying it I haven't missed any shifts !!!!!!!!!
Not knocking anyones choice or pumping up business for Gary, but I can't imagine a better shifter, especially for racing.Do you have the Viper master /slave ? Did you bleed them from the bottom up and use Motul fluid ?

I'm still running the stock clutch set-up, waiting for it to fry, then I'll upgrade., I'll try the hand wrist thing. Sounds like FUN!! wait thats another thread.
