OK, I am going to put the snake on some juice.......so I was thinking of a 75 shot but if I recall somebody said you really dont feel it that much. So can I go with a 125 or 150 and still maintain life of the engine. And if so should I go with a wet or dry shot? Also what is the name of the thing I need to get if I want to make it were it only sprays when I have it floored in 2nd and 3rd?Also will I need to get different spark plugs. Also is there only certain kits our trucks can use ?

I think someone else should answer about a wet or dry kit, but the safety device you're referring to is a WOT throttle switch. Nitrous is only spray when the throttle is open 100%. I think cooler spark plugs are recommended on any nitrous application.

and...from what i have been reading, you'll have to go back to stock PCM, thats whats holding me back:(

You do not neccessarily have to go back to a stock pcm....but you will need the software so you can pull timing yourself....

a 150 shot is big and with amount of $$$ these motors cost...I would go to a pro for install and a dyno tune...

A 125 or a 150 would work best. And make it a wet shot.

I'm also spraying a 150 shot the only changes that I made was the colder plugs and reinstalling the stock pcm. Most of the kits come with a wot switch but as an added safety switch I recommend the MSD window switch. At wot the switch keeps the juice from srpaying until about 3000k (you set the on and off) and shuts it off at a desired rpm about 5000k. BTW a 50 shot is too small for these trucks you won't feel the kick.

Wet shot mixes the NOS and fuel together - safer, better burn.

Pull 2 degrees per 50 shot of NOS as a rule of thumb.
Colder plugs.
Ensure good pressure.
High octane fuel and/or race gas.
options:
Safety switch.
RPM switch.
WOT switch.
Bottle warmer.
Auto opener

there are many good kits out there: ZEX, Cold fusion, NX...our vendors have them. If not Summit or another good auto store.

A fundamental concept conflict here. 150 is heavy, and as Nowwhat says it requires some expertise to be done right.

The point is, most everything you do to go faster will in most instances reduce the life of your engine...there are some exceptions but I think the rule is pretty much accepted. Now that does not mean that you are going to cut your engine life by 75%...but hell every time you go WOT you are probably taking miles off the back end...and every time you stress an unmodified engine you are killing it a little...

But who cares? Very few of us expect to see that odometer roll into 6 figures!

What about a 150 wet with window switch, wot, and Water/meth with the stage 2. Would the water/meth keep it safe? The stage 2 gives 60 rwhp, witch it about 85ish at the crank so a 150 at the crank would give 120 to the wheels, wouldn't it be better to keep the stage 2 and just cool the intake charge?

so since you have to pull timing . Will the truck run like crap when off the bottle?

also what time would I be looking at with a 100 shot and DR

Water/Meth is not a good idea when spraying.

Split second makes a box that will pull timing when you arm the nitrous.

I cant remember the name of the box so wyou can call them. I think it was about 575.00.

You absolutley need to run a window switch. Several companys make a combination window wide open throttle, window switch in the 200.00 range.

Stick, you should talk to Justin about this. Not only is he very knowledgeable about the do's and don'ts of using nitrous, but he can give you excellent prices on the stuff you'll need to get it done. ;)

I myself like wet systems, easyer to tune with alot less chance of hurting the motor as apposed to a dry shot. And yes its best to run a micro switch. And if you havent done a system before find a good / reputable shop to do the install. And then have fun, drive fast & take chances.
