Man.....I won't eat a mushroom unless it's served to me at a restaurant deep fried and with ranch dressing. No way I would eat something I found growing in the woods somewhere. Not gonna do it.

You are missing some good eating ! Around the end of April to mid-May we have morels around here (locally known as merkels or mergels).They are easily identifiable and delicious battered and fried in butter.They sell for about $75/gallon they are such a delicacy.

Dang..been about 30 yrs since I ate a merkel....best mushroom there is...

OK, you talked me into it. I'll see you next April.

What I was saying is, I know so little about what is consumable and what's not out in the woods that I wouldn't dare try something on my own. So much of that stuff can kill you.

I'll be there too Nelson, sounds like a GTG at Hot Rams...
 
300 type of mushroom in the forest, 15 edible.
but if you like them, why not.
i really want to try a truffle sometime.
hunted by dogs is cool.
looks like something was eating this one too, saw some 8 point bucks in the woods i will be hunting close by this year!!!
