I remember a thread awhile back about upgrading cam, springs and pushrods.

Anybody know what brand of springs and pushrods are good. I was asked if Manley made springs and pushrods for our trucks and wasn't sure on the name brand.

Thx.

Definitely contact Roe on this stuff.

FYI, the "stocker rockers" are pretty decent. Unless you're stepping up to Jesel or Mohawks, you're pretty well wasting money. Don't bother changing unless you need a different ratio, or can't find anything better to do with your $. Better push rods are a plus, and upgraded springs are too (especially w/ aftermarket cam &/or forced induction equipped), think those were Crane(?). As for cams, that's wide open. I chose the MoPar Comp Coupe cam, based on a naturally aspirated street application. Much bigger than that, and tuning and streetability are real issues according to the people I've spoken to while planning my build.

Was that a 708 cam (Gen II) that you went with, or the Gen III Comp Coupe cam (or are they even different)?

Also, does this cam have enough "lope" to hear it?

I have upgraded my push rods with the ones that Roe has..... Not sure who makes them...

If you change rocker ratio's you will need different length push rods.

I wouldnt spend the money on springs unless you plan to port and polish the heads and install larger valves.

Dont have my cam specifics but believe its a little more aggressive than the comp coupe cam. Will post details and results post install in a couple weeks.

There are varius lifter upgrades you can do as well depending on your wallet.

Cam install was pushed out to the end of June...Expecting to make a trip to the maternity ward any day now..(3 days overdue).

Will post cam specifics and pre/post dyno info after the install ;)

Shooting for 515-520rwhp...

You should make that easy....Im using the cOmp Coupe cam....as specified by Dan Cragin. Thats with the stryker heads. By the way, My machinist put my heads on a flow bench and they OUTPERFORMED the claims by JM. You never see a product doing BETTER than advertised. At .050 they flowed 319. They Claimed 310.
