Truck backfired today. Just trying to figure out why it would have done that. I also have CEL 0113 and 0330 which I had prior to the back fire. I was doing some trouble shooting yesterday and had the intake sensor disconnected. I reconnected it prior to driving today. I looked up the codes and I'm thinking they will go away after a little bit of driving.

bad gas has caused mine everytime. put a little octane boost or stabil in it and it should clear it up.

Feeding it to many beans will make it back-fire

I will never say this again Smoke...but just because I care about you...trade that pos today...take the wholesale trade-in on anything you want...but get away from it just as fast as you can...in your language:

BREAK RIGHT! BRAKE RIGHT!

I would have to agree somewhat with prof....If you don't know what your getting yourself into, you need to get out of it. You seem like an expert at what you do in the service (flying), but when it comes to your truck, you should either take it to a reputable tuner, remove the STS, or get rid of it. We are only saying this because we care Smokey   . You are going in uncharted waters with a blindfold on.

You shouldn't disconnect the IAT sensor, its used for open & closed loop readings, and depending on how your vec is setup, fuel maps are also effected.

You gotta admire the guy Roy....He has stuck with that POS thru thick and thin......I did not say it was smart :p I just admire people that try and do things their way and have the balls to be different :D If everyone was like Scotty we would have never lost in Vietnam

I do admire Smoke. I just hate to see him suffer with this truck. I think the odds of it going the way of every other SRT 10 with an STS are huge.

Right now he can trade it as it is...get wholesale as a trade on a new one and be done with it. If he wants a turbo or a supercharger, we now know where to go to get reliability. Smoke was an early adopter, admirable, but the pain has been too much...

I really feel for him, but it is only money...take a 10 or 15k hit and get out from under the dark cloud...life is too short to beat your head against a brick wall...

thats what I was wondering, Why not just take the sts off unless you think it has already did damage or has taken life off of it.

I have stayed out of this, this time around. I'm not going to give any kind of advice, because I do not want to be responsible for contributing to the loss of his engine.

And I honestly believe it's only a matter of time before it blows up. No one else has managed to make a viper engine run and live. For the life of me, I don't know how Smoke thinks he can. Phil (Big Asp) lost two motors to the STS, and the second one was built to take normal boosted conditions. It died on the dyno too.

Sorry Smoke, when it goes, I'm going to have a hard time feeling sorry for you.

You had the last word...many of us are in hopes that Smoke is at a dealer trading his vehicle for something with a future.

Saw a 05 red QC riding around here in Pensacola about an hour ago. Maybe that was him. Haven't seen very many 10's here in our podunk town.

If there hasn't been any internal damage yet, Smoke may be able to just remove that STS system and drive N/A.

Bill.

Bill, it was just a month or two ago that Smoke found a spark plug with a closed electrode...I fear there are internal issues.
