I head that I should be running a boost controller. Anyone know of a good one or one I should stay away from?

stay away from manual ones.

greddy is good, blitz is good.

I have a dual spec R blitz I could sell ya for $200

has four settings, warning, all kinds of mess, they sell for like 3 bills on ebayosity:D which has some of specs

What do you mean by all kinds of mess? What are the 4 settings? Are they pre-set boost levels are just 4 levels you set then can switch through?

With the blitz spec you have 4 positions on the dial you can preset your own boost levels too.

Making it where you can have 4 different tunes , and tunes of boost dependint on your application.

Such as mine, I use the number 1 position for the street setting and low boost.
Then if I change the tune to the race setting and need higher boost I can switch to the number 4 position for a preset of higher boost.

I use #1 and #4 just in case the knob gets turned accidentally , it want go to a wild setting and the wrong tune.

On each setting you can also set the gain, or how hard or quick the boost will actually come in.
In other words if you set the boost level to 10 lbs of boost then you can set the gain to say 50-60% and the boost will gradually come in, instead of jsut being a "hit" like NOS, makes it more controllable.

Then you also have a limiter, you can preset a boost limit of psi and the controller will not let the boost spike beyond that.
basically if you preset your boost to say 5 psi, you may want to set the limiter and warnin to 7 psi, that way if ya get a spike in boost it will not go beyond 7 psi.

all a controller does is controll how much boost is allowed, and some , not many, will controll the spikes, and also have three or four positions to preset your boost levels too

Lots of good info there Tony, Thanks!! How hard is the install? My waste-gates are way back by the rear tires so that might be a problem for a normal hook up.

don't see your sts turbo in your sig........ did you remove it ?

stinker have any idea how the new Blitz SBC i-Color boost controlers are? those are the ones i was looking at :) just curious while here :)

Fairly easy to install, I have the instructions somehwere let me look, but all ya need is the power , pos, neg, and a boost reference from the intake , then ya may have to run a vaccum line from the wastegate to the controller , not too bad.

Fixin to head to Granny's for sum fried chiken:D when I get back I will try and post a couple pages of info and diagrams for ya, the only problem is when ya first read them they are kinda greek:D it actually takes a tad to get the just of it, but it comes down to basics, you set a psi you want, then you can set the warning and the limiter, and the gain of boost. The gain is the biggest deal, you kinda have to play with it a bit to get it how ya like it.

But I will post the info for ya when I return with a full belly:toilet:
