Been watching 2 Blue/White GTS's here.
1996 with 11,800 miles for 60k and a 1997 with 4,500 miles for 52k
Needless to say, I'm still looking.

it seems like the red is a little more common is that correct

Yes, I believe it's the most common color. That and silver. Find a '99 GTS in Blue, if you want rare. Or ANY car that came with a STRIPE DELETE...

Damn Dom is that the closest 1/4 mile track to you??
abq is closest but there das are usually in the 8000 area right now and elevation is 5200.....and the track prep is scary at best

A B/W is going to cost you a little bit more. 40K to 50K.

Any other color should be had for 35k and up depending on mods.

And Red is the best color, btw. :aetsch:

I'm sorry but for that amount i would get a 03-05 porsche 911 turbo.......

do you have leather driving gloves to go with the porsche? hahaha

Dom, you know your not looking so why bother posting.

need less to say red GTS's are the chepest because they were made every year. 98-99 silver dont seem to have that much of a market. there is a 99 GTS for sale on the VA with I think 30k miles for about $32k. your can pick up a nice GTS for mid $30ks.

LMAO no but I do have several leather bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany......and did i mention that people know me?

But seriously the GTS vipers are sick looking and if you can get one for around 35K and thats what you want Doom go for it. I just always loved Porsches and that a 05+ Porsche 911 turbo WILL be my next toy

"When in Rome" haha

Are 911 Turbo's that cheap, that would be a nice daily if you could get one in an auto!

Don't buy a SLLOOWWW girly import car. :elefant: :elefant: :elefant:

Get yourself a 750hp manly beast like mine.

30,000 miles is on the high side for a used Viper--there are many, many, many cars for sale with much lower mileage. Although red is not the most common color (it's actually blue/white, believe it or not--2128 produced in 96 and 97, compared to 1521 red cars in 97-98 and 00-02), it's the cheapest color. There was no "stripe delete" option; stripes were (and are) a $3000 option, and factory striped cars will always go for more $ than unstriped. You said you're looking at a 99, though--what color? Mods? Depending on those, and on whether you're buying privately or from a dealer, you should be in the very low to mid 30s.

not to get nitpicky but, from the viper registry

B&W GTS's = 2128 for 96&97

Red GTS's = 1921 + 235 ACR's = 2156
total R/T production for all years Gen I & GenII = 5034
I was referring to the fact that more red cars were made in general over more years. over 7000 red vipers were made from 92-02 which is nearly half the production, thats why the price is softer.

5034 out of 7026 people surveyed preferred Red Vipers over all other colors combined. This poll was informal, of course. :elefant: :elefant: :elefant:
