yes, i know what it is not, or else i would know what it is. derp!
my best guess was a relay station due to the narrow beam of the array.
i wanted to climb it, and see where it was pointed.

cell towers are those one with white bars on them.
these appear directional, but i might be wrong, because i do not know.

It is some type of relay station I believe. There use to be a bunch of them along the Florida turnpike back before cell phones were around.

I believe it's an old school TV tower, i.e. prior to Satellite transmissions.

That Freq comes up as a police freq. I recommend not to climb it :D

its a microwave tower... the phone company used those in lieu of land lines in areas that were difficult for trenching.(This was before fiber optics became popular). Not many are used for that now.. Fiber is much easier to put in the ground and plenty of bandwidth.. Plus you dont have to worry about roasting birds and low flying planes... In the old days if we suspected that wave guide was leaking, we would just look around the tower for the patches of dead grass :)...

wow, really? thats insane.
trenching would be a challenge here.
i did find an artifact on my own property as well. i have a cable burried about 2 feet deep.
i dug it up and broke it a year ago. there is still a marker that has a photo of a bell on it.
wonder if its an old party line?
