What is the fitting next to/on top of the thermostat housing?

It looks like a grease fitting, can I remove it for my autometer temp sensor? The fittings I have will hit there, but not the blank on the same housing...

I think that is the bleeder to release the air out of the system.

Thes other ports in the same area you can use for the sender, I would leave the bleed screw in place.
