What is a good standard 4 speed trans to use with a 383 stroker putting out 450 hp

Olde Schoole Muncie 4spd would be my guess. . .

If its going in that Camaro you're building, a TH400 with 3600 rpm to 4000 rpm stall gets my vote. :rock:

Stick a 400 would be better for the track bro, and tons cheaper to build,

I have doug herbert down the road about 5 miles from me, he had a ton of 5 and 6 spds, you might give them a call, they were all on a special buy or something as I remmber

Stick now that I think about it I "might " have seen a 4 spd on the floor also,

you might jsut give them a call, they always got a ton of used spares laying around,

thanks for all the responses.....I was going to go with a big block , but my wife said she would like for me to try to keep the budget of the car around 15,000. and that includes roll cage "because my son is going to be driving", also I need a rear end , tires, well just about everything.

A 2 bolt 350 and 700r4 came out of the car. so I was thinking about getting a stroker kit for the engine and having the block reworked ofcourse..Me and my son have decided we dont want a auto trans as we both like the challenge of a stick.

Any ideas yall have of what combos will work in this car let me know,,,it will be fo our local 1/8 mile tracks

I "THINK" the LT1 T56 bellhousing has the same bolt pattern as a SBC. I know the input shaft lenght is different. I think the parts exist to put a LT1 T56 into a 3rd gen.

Personally I would go with an adaptor and install a Ford Top Loader.

Much stronger than the M-22 in my opinion. Plus they are easier to work on.
