What kind of fluid should i put back in my tranny?

For you Roy, i'll buy a carton :D:D;) hahah.. Alright, well i'm off to the store.

kinda off topic but not really.. I'm halfway through changing my trans. fluid
and i'm about to remove the stock shifter assmbly. I noticed there's some
RTV? sealant under the shifter. How important is it to redo the seal? i don't think
i have any black RTV/sillicone sealant on hand.. Also, if i decided not to go
the way Roy did it how can i re-fill the tranny? I can't remember how i did it
the first time and i think i posted in the DIY forums

Regards,

Andrew

Drain from the bottom rear...the refill plug is about half way forward and half way up the drivers side of the trans...fill until it starts to seep out of the fill port.

Or until you have so much fluid all over yourself that you get pissed.

There is a cheap little pump that you can attach to the ATF bottle...it has a small pump and that makes it a lot easier...any part store will have one...just a couple of dollars.

Why are you pulling your shifter??

Roy mentioned that this would be the easiest way to refill the transmission..
Looking at it i'm not real sure how else to do it besides buying a pump which
i can't get atm :/ I forgot how i did it the first time...:(

You can go with a funnel and pour...but that is when you need six or seven bottles...

Anyone use Castrol ATF+4 ?:dontknow: Thats what I used last time.

Here's my plan for this: Go to Hardware store (auto store may have) get a couple feet or so of clear flexible hose/tubing as large an inside diameter as possible, but small enough outside that it will still fit in fill hole.
Put one end in fill hole and run other end up to engine compartment and connect a funnel to it, find a spot to secure it, so it doesn't have to be held and pour in some fluid.
