what kinda times are you guys with roe sc putting down
 
I think the one truck thats hooking up (1FAST400) posted a slip in the low 11's. He says he has an undocumented pass in the 10s.

All others can't hookup and I dont think they've even hit 12s. I may be wrong about that, someone (I'm sure) will correct me if I am wrong.:D
 
From what I understand, those with SC's can run low 12's, high 11's.....traction is the issue....caltracs, slicks, all kinds of other stuff :dontknow:
 
Isn't FlyingLow putting down mid-low 12s with his QC? He had links to vidz in his sig.
He was hitting high 12s even before the turbo I think.
1Fast400 hit an 11.03 with drag slicks an a Roe SC.

It would be cheaper to buy a dishwasher, or just start using paper plates hehehe.

Only a couple of the Roes that I know of out there, Fast400 and Prof.

He asked about Roe SC. Flyinglow has an STS turbo.;)
 
Guys you could roll it to 20 and still hit 12's with 6psi but why not just buy a rail car or something (Maybe fuel car for what it cost to get these to 10's)and spin the shit out of these and pop the hood at the shows and let everyone go ah.h.h.h that is fucking cool.
The Roe has 20 times the bling factor of a Paxton and what else can you do with 5500lbs but bling reliably?
 
The Roe S/C are running mid 13's. NBT hates his and was quite pissed at the shootout. He had slicks on and everything. 1fast's is NOT box stock...he has a built motor with Striker heads and a few other trickerations.....Roy ran high 13's and i witnessed NBT run mid to hi 13's and he can drive!!! IMO stay away for now until they can figure out wassup! Traction and heat soak are inherent problems with our trucks and that system is completely adverse to both of those issues...NO intercooler and the twin screw (all the TQ at once) is a killer. 1fast is benefitting from a badass built rearend that geting him .5-.8 advantage....of which mine is ON THE WAY!!! :D
 
I will let you know in a few weeks...it's a new animal for me....and I finally addressed grip... went down some spider gears in the rear end...(now fixed) and got the line lock done...the VEC issue fixed (so far) and she is running great.
Most importantly is I am beginning to trust the truck, and getting the feel for it.... next time out I will start dropping out of the hole at 4K... go from there.

I hope so! You and I have similar mods, except for the Roe.;)

I would think you should be doing at least 120+ mph through the traps!
 
Just for the record I was 12.7 N/A. My 12.4 with the STS was with the boost turned up.
 
The TS doesn't have a heat soak issue. I made 3 runs in less than 5 minutes and varied .05 of a second. Heat soak is not an issue. NBT actually hooked up, hence the spyder gears giving way. Obviously driving the RC is a much tougher issue than most thought. You guys need to realize, I'm only running 8lbs of boost. I'm not running these high amonts like blake. I'm not even getting the big benefit of the strikers because I'm not running enough boost. A RC will be able to pull a 1.58 or so 60' once they hook up. Don't blame the SC, it isn't the issue. Traction and driving are.
 
As soon as my truck is back together, it's going up for sale, there will be plenty of info then.
 
Maybe now is a good time to ask a question related somewhat to this topic.

Is there any benefit of running a forced induction truck with stock tires and launching from near idle or a low rpm vs running with slicks/drag radials at a higher rpm?

I noted a few guys with the drag radials/etc and stock rear ends breaking some things this past weekend in Florida. Would this have happened with stock tires and a lower/much lower launch rpm to optimize grip?

So my question: how much will my 1/4 times improve/not improve using stock tires and a low launch rpm vs a stickier tire and higher launch rpm? I'm thinking that the stock rear ends reliability will be longer with the stock tires and lower launch rpm. I dont think its worth it to get the tires/wheels and keep a lower launch rpm...correct?

I'm trying to decide whether I want to go and purchase wheels/drag radials for next year and increase a failure in the rear end or lower my launch rpm (no wheelspin) with stock tires and reduce rear end damage potential.
 
Here is my opinion:

People with high powered applications are spinning the m&h's off the line, which actually allows them to get up in the RPM range in which they are making power much quicker. When I hooked up, it bogged the truck down pretty bad. All because the converter can't flash and get up in RPM's. Eventhough I make a lot of power at a low rpm, compared to other applications, it just isn't enough. You're trying to move a 6k/lb tank and it doesn't want to move.

The stock rears have a 2 spyder gear rearend. With the high powered applications, that is a lot of power to send through 2 gears. My dad was telling me why he thinks these are blowing, dealing with the clutches, but I'll have to get him to explain it again in order to type it out. The powerlock, like I have, has 4 spyder gears to spread the same power. Obviously cutting the stress in half.

In a QC truck, launching will always be an issue because we can't get a converter that can flash up to 3300 or so. The RC have the advantage of launching harder, but that also puts more stress on the rear.

I have decided to sell my truck once it comes back. When they pulled the motor apart, they realized they couldn't get the main caps off. The block tried to twist itself in half. Indy's and my dad opinion is that due to the extreme weight of the truck, the hard hooking nature and the overall power, that the block simply can't handle it. On top of that, with the blower being ran off the crank, as is the oil pump, they believe it's stressing the oil pump to much, hence why mine went out. Due to all of this, once my truck is put back together and everything is in working order, I will sell it. If I continue to own the truck I will beat on it and likely cause a similar failure down the road. I made around 45 FULL passes down the track, probably more than anyone, especially at these speeds. I just found all this out 2 days ago. I'm still processing all of it.
