well, an odd question, it's not my 1st ride, but since it's quite different from my previous 5.9, what should I look for? some critical points to check?

thanks

The Gas gauge??:D :D

Seriously, the clutch!! If it's a RC. Other things would be Tire flat spots if it has been sitting awhile.

Make sure the harmonic balancer bolt has been tightened with loctite if it's an '04 or early '05. Really, I'm not kidding.

If you're not able to check it out yourself, get a carfax report on the VIN or sent an inspection company to do it for you. I heared SGS does a great Job.
Or buy from a vtcoa member

I already had a carfax: 2 records, 1 owner, clean. I trust the seller, but I just want to be sure the truck is OK. It could even have some factory "bugs".

I know SGS, I already done some years ago on a Corvette. This time I'm going to buy in person.

Is it possible to bring it to a Dodge shop and have it checked by warranty?

basically if no check engine lights or something similar doesn't light up it should be fine. It has 1500 miles!

Its not even broke in yet with 1500 miles on it. You should be alright as long as it wasn't abused. I'd have the seller send you pictures of the tires up close. I looked at a new 04 that I waited for the dealer to get in. Anyway after the long drive to go by it. When I was looking at it at the dealership. The only thing wrong with it was the tires were burned off bad. No little tits left and feathered on the rear from smokey burn outs. I told the salesman why the F did you assholes go out and abuse this. Now you can sell it to someone else, and I left. I was really pissed. Good luck with the buy. I hope its everthing you think it is.

But you should have said that AFTER you went and abused it on the test drive-LOL:burnout:

They didn't offer me a drive. This was back in 04 when they didn't let you even touch one let alone drive one.

- Look in the air intake for holes (meaning NOS use)
- Clutch like they said
- Tire tread left, may be able to bring down the price
- Any oil leaks from the oil lines
- Fuzzy dice

If there's gorilla hair on the drivers seat-and banana peels under the seats-RUN!!!! LOL

haha thanks for hints and kiddings too:D

I think seller is a serious man, and that truck will see his 1st mods by me :)

I'll look for those bananas by the way

I noticed that even though the truck only had 2800 miles on it, it had mighty dark brake fluid... one might think someone cooked it doing burnouts?

see if it has a Viper motor??? not hemi...lol

test drive it and make sure it does not pull to one side? maybe he hit something???

ok, I'll check if someone added (or took away) a couple of cylinders

yes, test drive it, brake and see it it goes straight, I have some kind of experience with my Vette!
