If you want to go beyond the low 600's at some point, you would probably be better off with the Paxton...

The Roe will require VEC III and Meth Injection. Your CE will require the Centerforce Clutch, and the Viper Slave and Master Cyl mod. You will have to have Cal Tracs (or you will spin your life away in the 14's).

Your budget will cover the Roe approach with all the rest too.

Isnt it you that has the vecIII inside the cab. I think I read that it takes an extension for the wiring and it wa said that it is expensive. Do you know how much it is and do I get it from Roe?
 
It is expensive...I don't know what the price was, but someone else recently did it and it seems like they said it was over $300...?

But the reader in the cab is a great convenience. I run the minus 3 degrees of timing most of the time, if I need to go to the Zero degree card I can do it on the fly...but of course I would never street race.;) :D

You know the more I think about your build the more I think that this is a very logical way to go...especially if you are not sure about FI.

Your approach does not rule anything out, can be as progressive and aggressive or conservative as you please...

Thanks for the kind words Roy. I believe it was a good choice for me.

It runs pretty good now, but I also know that later on I could easily throw a blower cam in there and add a S/C. Just gotta hit the lottery first. :p

We are definitely fortunate that we have more options now than we did early on. Hopefully Gaboon will be able to figure out what's best for his situation.

I just got back from talking the the guy at Absolute Performance Inc. Really nice guy and has worked on several ram srt 10 here locally. He says there are more here than I had thought. He seems very wise to the viper motor and says that he was president of some viper club which he made sound like it was a big deal. Long story short I am going to go with the Roe and he will do the install. He has never done the roe before::( but was familiar with the product. I dont know about going shop rates but his are a flat rate of $85/hour and he says 8-10 hours. His dyno rate is also $75 for 3 pulls and a flat $300 for a dyno tune. I spoke to several customers outside of the shop and they all raved about him. We will see. I will keep you all informed and thank you for all of your help.:D
 
It was 350.00 for the extension cable.

My install shop is the same hourly rate. They have had my truck since Sunday night. They originaly quoted me 11 hours on the SC and 4.5 for the meth injection. Today is day 3, and they will not finish till tomorrow. The good news is they are honoring the original quote. I am not being charged for the fact that they are taking a little longer than they (and Roe) thought it should. In my mind that is very fair. I want this installed and tuned right.
 
As a side note, some of the install is very simple. I mounted the VEC in the cab, so I would not be paying him $85 per hour to remove dash panels and route a cable. I just routed the extension over to the spare battery tray and staged it for the actual install.

I also mounted the meth injection pump and made all the connections with the exception of the connection to the VEC. I did this at the same time I was installing the VEC, so I could route the LED signal wires through the dash to the engine compartment where they tie in to the harness.
 
If I had 8000.00 to spend I would definately go with the Roe, Looks Great,
Sounds Great, runs pretty damn good.
 
I think it really depends where you want your power. I have had both a roots style and centrifugal type supercharger on previous trucks, and for stoplight to stoplight, there is no comparison; the roots wins hands down. It gives you instantaneous power, whereas the centrifugal takes a little while to build boost. There's no question the Paxton makes power. But as I said, it just depends on where you want to use it.
 
I agree with Ron 100% on this but if I were keeping my truck long term i'd certainly do a N/A build like Tim's first.. :burnout:

I think this is going to be the trend in the future. Build the internals first, manage the traction issues, then move to forced induction...just makes a lot of sense for most of our applications. Heck a nice middle step might be a 150 shot...or add the shot on top of the FI, a little later...
 
$8000?............................ hell withe the truck , get it all in $1 bills and go to the titty bar, whats so hard about this:dontknow:

unless you go mild , $8000 is just gonna get you in trouble, that will get a build started, there is always other stuff that comes along

Where did you mount the vec in the cab?
