I am talking at WOT. I hope you can hit third under normal driving conditions or even 1/2 throttle!! I also hope you were kidding about the beer!!:D ;)
YUP..Im talking WOT and not letting off...Just clutch & shift!

And no I was not kidding about the beer.:D I mean standing around holding a beer and using my fingers to count isn't very hard..:D

You could get a custom set of mids done at a good muffler shop for 150 to 200, and have some money to go to the track.

with 500 bucks u can kill 2 birds with one stone and go b&m shifter and 2 inch lowering blocks for the rear. with the cash left over u would be able to buy me a case of beer for the excellent suggestion i just gave you :D :D

As usual I read it wrong, I had visions of you shifting with the Beer in your shifting hand!! :joyman: :joyman:

Lets see, you can hold a beer with your thumb and 1 finger so that means youve missed 3rd three times, thats three times too many!! Or three times you have been embarrased because the the other guy has left you!!:p ;)

Take yer truck to a muffler shop and have him cut the cats out...(shove 'em in a box) then weld in an x pipe. Will greatly improve exhaust note and add 20-30 rwhp.

Then go buy BOOMERS GenX Shifter................

Almost agree with Django this time, although I took my Gen X out and sold it to a forum member and put my old trusty B&M back in. Just could not get accustomed to the Gen X.

True- a good muffler shop can do the mids for ya, but JMB's come with the SIM bungs welded in, sized correctly, low profile (for added ground clearance), and powder coated.
It's a few bucks more, but (IMO) worth it.

I see we're going to get some good mileage out of this. (I wonder if being a mr. smarty pants is in the manual too):p
Heh heh.
I was hoping someone would get the triple-entendre'!!!

well i called some muffler shops around here and none of them will do the mids without cats.....and another told me that not many could even bend 3" anyone know someone around the temple-belton(in texas) area that could help me out? x-pipe sounds like a plan, maybe i could get a kit from flowmaster that has the bends and such and do it myself....do the factory exhaust manifolds have a 2.5" collector or 3" and what would the bassani's have(i plan on them a little later in the year)

Yeah, I would save the dough and deal with a good muffler shop that is willing to handle the task. The shifter is a good choice but be prepared for a little noise from the shifter console.. I dunno if B&M shifters are like that. Caltracs are excellent if you go to the track a lot. I never had traction problems, but then again I don't race at the track. Also, money on BJ's..? NOPE.. Those should be for free.. Never costed me a dime....:dontknow: and I'm from NYC..

If you miss 3rd alot get the shifter

If you can hook up and you never go to the track, caltracts

If you love the track and want to go race all the time slicks.

If you think you hook up good, don't miss shifts, and you know how to drive at the track then go for the more power mod , catless mids

If you just want the engine bay to look better and don't care about performace gains JBM's Cia is the way to go....

Ah yes grasshopper, but riding around with 17 inch wheels and MT's is not practical and for 3rd, you can practice all you want and still miss it due to the flex in the handle, but with Boomers shifter it's there every and anytime!!:D :p
better patch that shifter with the viper cylinder's upgrade too...... hell, since ya got it apart - better upgrade that clutch too........

it's just money......:D

i think i'll get the caltracs, then the slicks.....don't get a chance to hit the track much anymore because of work. had a mustang with a steeda shifter so i'm used to the noise and can shift pretty well, don't think i'll have any truble with power for now, and the slicks will keep me from roasting my street tires
