Thanks Guys, My late sons girlfriend bought him an XTRONS dvd, stereo GPS Model#TD716G. ( I dont think its an expensive peice but has sentimental value for a 20 year old who worked her tail off to buy it )He had an A4 Audi Quattro with a Bose system and never fully installed the stereo. When I sold his car to My buddys daughter it went with original equipment. Now coming up on the first aniversary of his death, Sam ( his girlfriend ) would like it put in her little Honda Civic I think its a 2001 -2002. Question will it fit and how much work??

thanks in advance guys

Regards

I have been out of car audio since about then.
It looks like it will fit. From what I also remember is that the dome light and keyless entry ran through the stock radio. I am not 100% on that though. That could have been earlier or later years I am thinking of.
Call around to some local car audio shops (not Best Buy). Just let them know the Year and Make of car, and tell them you need to have a "double din" radio installed.
It shouldn't cost that much to have it installed. I'm not sure of rates these days, but I thought the last I heard it was about $60 an hour. Shouldn't take more than one. You will need a kit, harness and I believe an antenna adapter. Maybe another $40-$60 in parts.

OR

If you want to tackle it yourself. DO get the wiring harness and Kit (Best Buy or Local shop). Do not crimp the wires. The harness make is so much easier and nicer.

Wes is correct.... The dome light and keyless entry goes through the stock stereo. The "old way" of getting around that is leaving the stock headunit buried up in the dash with the corresponding wires still attached..... but, I think they make a little box that runs those function now. :dontknow:

I thought they use to have a harness you could get. I remember putting them under a seat or in the trunk.
