i got a p 1281 code tonight on the way home from work. "engine cold too long" what the heck does that mean. do i need to disconnect battery to remove it? if so do i need to flash back to stock first?

you can clear the code with your SCT, no need to reflash.

everything that i have found is that it is your engine coolant temp is to cold and the culprit is usually the t stat

As said Ken just use your SCT to clear the code........Did you replace the Thermostat with a 172?....this is our coldest evening so far this fall.....I use to get this code on the Charger I had when driving a distance on an interstate hwy during cold weather..

i will clear it today with the sct. yes i have the 172 tstat. and i drove 20 miles on the interstate last night after work. so i guess it is very similar to the situation with your charger. it is just going to be annoying if i have to do that all winter. any chance of long term damage doing this all winter? oh well the price you pay for happiness
