On the brake pads for the rear of an 05. I noticed my 05 hemi had the same design on the front pads, hell they almost look the same. There is a little nipple or dot that sticks out of back of the pad for each piston on the caliper. I was removing my rear caliper last night to paint it and when I went to remove the caliper a piece of the piston broke off and the nipple on the pad was the reason why.

For future reference the easiest way to get the pads off is to remove the entire assembly from the rotor push the pads in where the rotor would be then seperate the caliper and remove the pads. I assumed, thats where I made my mistake, that the pads would come off like pads on any other car would. I JB welded the broken part back on the piston and called it a day. The break did not cause the piston to leak so it should be fine.

On another note the calipers look alot better!!! Happy gobble day!

If its just a little break It shouldnft be any cause for worry. If its a big divit out of the contact area of the piston a new piston can be purchased from Dodge.
Getting them(pistons) out is a bit of a trick.

The trick is to blow them out with shop air. Make sure it is contained/trapped, beacuse they come out like a bullet.
